RAMALLAH, March 2 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Ministry of Health said two Palestinian brothers were shot dead Monday by Israeli occupation settlers in the town of Qaryut, south of Nablus in the West Bank.
In a statement, the ministry identified the victims as Mohammad Muammar, 52, who was shot in the head, and Fahim Muammar, 48, who was shot in the pelvis.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams treated five people wounded by live fire, including two in critical condition who were later pronounced dead at hospital.
Local sources said dozens of armed settlers, under occupation army protection, attacked the town and opened live fire at residents who attempted to confront the assault. (end)
