GENEVA, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi affirmed on Thursday that "efforts are continuing diligently and constructively" in light of the unprecedented openness of American and Iranian negotiators to "new and creative ideas and solutions, and the creation of conditions conducive to progress and reaching a fair agreement with sustainable guarantees." This came in a statement by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, saying that on Thursday the indirect negotiations between Iran and the US are taking place in Geneva with Oman as mediator.
The statement noted that Minister Al-Busaidi held a meeting this morning with the US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittkopf, and the son-in-law of the US President, Jared Kushner, within the framework of the Iranian-American negotiations.
It added that the meeting included a review of the Iranian side's views and proposals, as well as the responses and inquiries raised by the American negotiating team, related to addressing the main elements of Iran's nuclear program and the guarantees necessary to achieve the desired agreement on this important issue from its various technical and regulatory aspects.
On Wednesday, Minister Al-Busaidi held a bilateral meeting with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi in Geneva, during which they discussed the latest developments and proposals put forward by the Iranian side in order to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear file. (end) amk.sma.bb
