Director of the NATO-ICI Regional Centre Advisor Emad Abdullah Al-Kandari
KUWAIT, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- The NATO-ICI Regional Centre in Kuwait, in cooperation with the Regional Public Affairs Centre (PARC), is hosting a training course on the fundamentals of public affairs from February 1 to 5, 2026.
The training course is with the participation of 24 representatives from member states of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the GCC General Secretariat.
In a speech delivered during the opening of the course, Director of the NATO-ICI Regional Centre Advisor Emad Abdullah Al-Kandari said that the course aims to provide participants with essential knowledge in communication skills and techniques, as well as to familiarize them with public affairs principles and media engagement mechanisms.
Al-Kandari explained that the course seeks to enhance participants' professional capabilities in dealing with the media and to improve institutional communication skills in the performance of their daily duties.
He added that the training program includes a combination of lectures and practical applications, during which participants receive training on preparing press releases, conducting media interviews, and organizing press conferences.
The program also focuses on developing verbal and non-verbal communication skills, monitoring and analyzing media coverage, and effectively engaging with the media under various circumstances.
Al-Kandari noted that organizing the course comes within the framework of the Centre's commitment to supporting capacity-building efforts, enhancing the exchange of expertise among partner countries, and developing national competencies in the field of public affairs. (end)
