KUWAIT, Jan 31 (KUNA) -- The International Jumping Championship, organized by Kuwait Police Sports Federation, culminated in a ceremony to honor the top riders Arab region and beyond on Saturday.
Abdullah Al-Awadhi claimed the title of the championship's grand prix race with a successful 145-cm. jump in 43:47 seconds followed by Hamad Al-Hajeri, Ali Al-Kharafi, the British Chad Fellows, Fawaz Al-Subai'e, Anaz Al-Annaz, Rakan Al-Hassawi, and Zayn Samir.
The medium category of the championship saw Faisal Al-Shatti leading in the 135-cm jump, Indian Sojubaby - 115 cm, and Ahmad Al-Shabib - 105 cm.
Hala Al-Mulla led the 130 cm. competition, followed by Madhi Al-Khamis, Abdulrahman Al-Fzei, Faisal Al-Shatti, Aws Al-Tannak, Manei Al-Ajmi.
Mohammad Zamel Al-Shemmeri led the 120 cm. competition, while Talal Al-Hazim won the 110 cm amateurs' competition.
The minor award went to Ghanima Al-Marzouq who led the 125-cm competition, followed by Mohammad Al-Ajeil and Marya Bushehri, in the second and third places, respectively.
The three-day event was held in Sabhan area under auspices of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssuf Saud Al-Sabah and in presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Maj.-Gen. Abdulwahab Ahmad Al-Waheeb and President of Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. (end)
