Kuwait's Al-Daihani bags gold in Asian singles skeet shooting finals

DOHA, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Mohammad Al-Dahiani powered his way to a gold medal on Thursday in the men's singles skeet shooting finals of the Asian championship in Qatar, which runs until January 21.
In the national team category, Kuwait finished second ahead of bronze medalists Kazakhstan and runners-up to gold medalists Qatar.
Commenting on Al-Daihani's win, the dual secretary general of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting federations Obaid Al-Osaimi expressed his elation over the accomplishment, hoping that similar accolades will follow suit.
Dedicating his victory to Kuwait's political leaders and the nation as a whole, Al-Daihani attributed his success to the overwhelming support at home, saying he would do his utmost to keep chalking up similar accomplishments.
Some 196 shooters from 17 Asian nations are vying for supremacy in the Qatar-hosted competition that kicked off on Monday. (end) sss.nam
