KUWAIT, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- Political Affairs Advisor at the US Embassy Julia Grublacher on Tuesday affirmed the prominent humanitarian role of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), saying it reflects Kuwait's civilized image and its firm commitment to humanitarian action and solidarity with affected peoples.
Speaking to KUNA during her meeting with KRCS Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis, Grublacher said she was briefed on the Society's ongoing humanitarian programs in several countries and discussed issues related to humanitarian work and relief coordination.
She commended KRCS efforts at Arab and international levels, expressing appreciation for its humanitarian interventions and the provision of urgent assistance to countries affected by crises and disasters.
For his part, Al-Mughamis told KUNA that the Society continues implementing humanitarian programs aimed at alleviating the suffering of refugees and displaced persons worldwide, stressing its commitment to supporting efforts that promote humanitarian solidarity.
He added that KRCS continues expanding its relief interventions through official channels in line with its humanitarian mission to assist affected populations during crises and disasters locally and internationally. (end) slm.ahm
