ADEN, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Namaa Charity inaugurated Thursday five water wells in the Yemeni Governorates of Hodeidah and Lahj to provide displaced people there with their needs of drinking water.
Namaa Charity's Deputy CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, stated in a press release, that the wells aims to provide clean and sustainable water, help improve health and living conditions by reducing the spread of waterborne diseases.
Al-Kandari added that this project is part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign, which is now its 11th consecutive year, to alleviate the suffering of war-traumatized Yemeni people.
He pointed out that, prior to the construction of the wells, displaced children and women were forced to travel long distances to obtain limited amounts of water from unsafe sources.
He noted that the beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its continuous humanitarian support and its sincere fraternal stance towards the Yemeni people. (end)
