GAZA, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- Gaza Civil Defense warned against the impact of severe weather, noting that the next few hours will be very difficult for residents.
In a statement on Thursday, Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said that the rescue teams received over 2,500 calls for help in the last 24 hours. He added that heavy rain destroyed several houses, which were already damaged by Israeli occupation bombing.
He called on the international community to provide immediate rescue missions for Gaza's residents and shelter those displaced.
The current cold temperatures worsened the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, he said, noting that there are about 9,300 children suffering from malnutrition. (end)
