Kuwait Info. Min. opens KFAS pavilion at 48th Kuwait International Book Fair

KUWAIT, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi on Wednesday inaugurated the pavilion of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) at the 48th Kuwait International Book Fair.
In a press statement, KFAS, represented by the Advancement of Sciences Publishing and Distribution Company (ASPD), said that ASPD is showcasing a selection of its latest scientific and cultural publications at the pavilion.
The latest titles published were The Ocean, Britannica Science Encyclopedia for Children and Mini Insects Encyclopedia.
KFAS added that the pavilion also features a collection of previously published books and magazines in various fields such as science, mathematics, technology and other areas of knowledge, targeting different age groups in society, from children and adolescents to youth and researchers.
The pavilion includes a range of periodicals and translated titles, including Al-Taqaddum Al-Ilmi magazine and several prominent international scientific magazines in Arabic translation such as How It Works and Scientific American, the foundation said.
KFAS pointed out that the pavilion offers a variety of children's science books, including Professor Astro Cat's Adventures, Be a Scientist, and The DNA Book, among other titles that help simplify science and foster a love of scientific reading among younger generations.
The foundation explained that its participation in this year's fair, held under the slogan "From the depths we discover, from books we learn," coincides with the activities of "Science Month 2025," one of its community science initiatives, and forms part of the program for this year's Science Month.
It added that this participation strengthens the Foundation's presence in the wider cultural scene and helps link reading with science and innovation, in line with its mission to promote scientific culture and support the building of a knowledge-based society under its slogan "A lasting legacy an innovative future." KFAS said that the ASPD pavilion also includes participation from its affiliated centers, such as the Scientific Center and Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, through interactive workshops and scientific experiments offered to children and adolescents inside the pavilion.
It indicated that these activities provide an enjoyable educational environment that encourages exploration and brings science closer to visitors in a simplified and practical way.
KFAS invited the public of all age groups to visit the ASPD pavilion in Hall 7 (Booth L57) to learn about its latest scientific and cultural releases and to take part in the interactive activities and programs.
The 48th Kuwait International Book Fair, under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, runs November 19-29 under the slogan "Nation of the Bookآ… Capital of Culture." (end) oys.so
