WASHINGTON, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump threatened a possible military intervention in Nigeria due to the "horrible atrocities" against Christians.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, 'guns-a-blazing,' to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities." "I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action," he added. Trump, previously, added Nigeria to a list of countries of "particular concern" due to reports on religious freedom violations.
The Nigerian government has vowed in a previous statement to combat violent extremism and protect all of its citizens no matter the race or creed. (end) amm.gta
