BRUSSELS, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stressed on Thursday that the alliance is taking the drone situation in Denmark seriously, pointing to close cooperation to ensure the security of critical infrastructure.
Rutte said in a post on X: "I just spoke with Denmarkآ’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen about the drone situation, which we take very seriously. NATO Allies and Denmark are working together on how we can ensure the safety and security of our critical infrastructure."
Earlier on Thursday, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said that the drones recently spotted over several Danish airports are part of a hybrid attack likely orchestrated by a professional actor.
The airspace at Aalborg Airport in northern Denmark was temporarily closed on Wednesday following the sighting of drones, two days after a similar incident near Copenhagen Airport. (end)
