Belgium announces humanitarian aid airdrop operation for Gaza

BRUSSELS, July 30 (KUNA) -- Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot announced Wednesday that his ministry, along with the Ministry of Defense and other departments within the Belgian First Aid and Support Team (B-FAST), have organized a Belgian operation to transport and air-drop humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
In a post on X platform, Prevot stated that a Belgian Air Force aircraft will take off to deliver humanitarian aid from the B-FAST team to Amman, Jordan, for the people of Gaza, he explained that the shipment mainly consists of medical supplies and food with a total estimated value of around EUR 600,000 (USD 700,000).
The Belgian minister stressed that they will ensure the highest level of safety in carrying out these operations, given the difficult conditions faced by more than two million Palestinians confined to less than one-fifth of Gaza's territory, he also emphasized the urgent need to allow trucks access into Gaza.
