NEW YORK, June 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Sheikha Jawaher Al-Sabah met on Friday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Jake McGee.
Both officials, meeting on sidelines of the 18th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP18), discussed bilateral cooperation in human rights.
Sheikha Jawaher talked about the State of Kuwait's efforts against human trafficking, and affirmed commitment to promoting human rights.
McGee commended Kuwait's women empowerment efforts, especially enrolling in military service and said it was an achievement that reflected Kuwait's commitment to promoting women rights.
The meeting was attended by Kuwait permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Tareq Al-Bannai. (end)
