Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail meets with Kuwait's ambassador to Cairo Mohammad Al-Thuwaikh
CAIRO, March 20 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said Tuesday that Kuwait has always stood by his country in times of adversity, saying the Arab world's most populous nation appreciates the support.
Ismail made the remarks during his encounter with Kuwait's ambassador to Cairo Mohammad Al-Thuwaikh, in which plans for closer bilateral ties were the focus of their talks, read a statement by the prime minister's office.
He pointed out that the "historic and brotherly ties" shared by the two Arab nations transcend camaraderie on the political front, rather, it includes economic and trade cooperation.
The Egyptian prime minister revealed that Cairo is set to introduce a "raft of economic measures" that aim to lure local and foreign investment, setting in motion large-scale development projects.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti envoy explained that these endeavors spell "a promising future for Egypt", saying that both countries are experimenting with ideas to improve relations even further. (end)
