KUWAIT, April 11 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday
it is following up the conditions of Kuwaitis in the tsunami-prone countries
since a powerful earthquake hit an archipelago to the west of Indonesia
earlier today.
The embassies of Kuwait in Indian Ocean littoral countries have developed
an emergency plan in collaboration with the Ministry to ensure the safety of
all nationals, director of the Ministry's Consular Division told reporters
here this evening.
"The plan sets forth all possible options including the evacuation of
Kuwaitis from these countries to home if need be," the senior diplomat said.
"These embassies are working around the clock to provide advice or any help
to the Kuwaiti national there," he pointed out, adding that the ministry is in
close contact with the embassies in this regard. (end)
