Turkish army kills five PKK operatives in northern Iraq

ANKARA, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- The Turkish air force delivered strikes to the positions of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in Iraq's northern Zap region, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Wednesday.
"More than five militants were killed and ammunition depots were destroyed as a result of the air operation," the statement added.
The PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU, resumed its armed campaign in July 2015 after a brief reconciliation period. (end) rs.haq
