Al-Roudhan, Turkey's ISPAT chief discuss boosting investment, trade

ANKARA, June 22 (KUNA) - Enhancing investment and trade between Turkey and Kuwait featured high on talks Kuwaiti visiting Minister of Trade and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan held with President of Turkey's Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) Arda Ermut.
The talks were attended by officials of the leading Turkish companies operating in different fields, like contracting and technology.
The Kuwaiti-Turkish ties have been remarkably rising over the past years, Al- Roudhan, who doubles Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said in a statement, referring to some major Kuwaiti projects being carried out by Turkish companies .
He added that during the meeting, they reviewed "Kuwait 2035" vision, and the grand projects it comprises, such as the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, due to be accomplished in two years' time, and the Madinat Al-Hareer (Silk City), and Al-Shadadiya Industrial Zone. He also highlighted the incentives and facilities of investing in Kuwait.
The minister pointed to Kuwait's key geographical location saying it can serve as a gate for the Turkish products to the Gulf markets. He stressed Kuwait's balanced foreign policy and strong ties on the regional and international scenes.
The meeting reviewed the promising economic and production sectors in Kuwait, such as construction and petrochemicals.
Al-Roudhan urged the Turkish investors to take part in achieving the "Kuwait 2035" vision, which is expected to attract up to USD 180 billion.
The Kuwaiti minister started on Wednesday a visit to Turkey and held talks with Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci. (end) ta.msa
