Trump envoys meet Netanyahu

WASHINGTON, June 21 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump's top officials working on the Israeli-Palestinian file met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem Wednesday, the White House said.
Senior Advisor to the President Jared Kushner, Assistant to the President and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt, and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman had a "productive" meeting with the Israeli leader and "the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing President Trump's goal of a genuine and lasting peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians that enhances stability in the region," the White House said.
The three US envoys "underscored that forging peace will take time and stressed the importance of doing everything possible to create an environment conducive to peacemaking," the White House said.
Kushner and Greenblatt are also meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his senior advisors in Ramallah, the statement revealed. (end) ys.mb
