Britain to welcome foreign efficiencies after leaving EU

LONDON, June 20 (KUNA) - Britain's Finance Minister Philip Hammond on Tuesday said that the doors would be open for efficiencies of migrants when the official withdrawal from the European Union (EU) takes place.
Speaking before heads of companies in London, Hammond added that the British government has given a top priority to the commercial and economic issues during the negotiations on separating from the EU that began officially in Brussels on Monday night.
He noted that preserving jobs and increasing investment are a top priority before reaching any final accord with the EU.
The minister indicated that the British people voted in the referendum for leaving the EU last year not to become poorer and less secure in the future.
Hammond said the best agreement between Britain and the EU should include comprehensive agreements on trade of goods and services and a transitional period before the final withdrawal as well as customs measures maintaining the flow of goods without disruption. The minister acknowledged that the success of the British economy in the future is connected with the agreement reached with the EU, affirming that all parties realize that the negotiations, expected to run over two years, will include several challenges.
