32 people killed in twin bombing in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Up to 32 people, mostly members of "Al-Sahwa" paramilitary squad and government regular forces, died in a twin suicidal bombing that targeted the irregular force a medics in the province of Diyala northeast of Baghdad on Thursday, police said in an updated report.
A police source said fiery blast took place when an attacker with explosives strapped to his waist set himself off amid a group of members of the paramilitary force in Al-Katoun district, west of the provincial city of Baacouba.
Shortly after the suicide attacker blew himself up, another attacker arrived at scene aboard a booby-trapped car, instantly setting off the vehicle. The second blast targeted medics who had rushed to the scene to aid victims of the first explosion.
Members of Al-Sahwa were gathering outside a headquarters of the Iraqi Army in Al-Katoun when the explosions occurred.
Security and military forces sealed off the bloodied scene and prevented curious onlookers from approaching, fearing a possible third explosion.
The bloody incidents occurred amid reported preparations by the American forces to carry out final troop withdrawal from the country, forecast by the end of the year. (end) ah.rk KUNA 031215 Nov 11NNNN
