Visit of Kuwait''s FM to Spain extolled

(With photos) MADRID, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Spain Adel Hamad Al-Ayyar stressed here on Thursday importance of the visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to Spain last week in strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
He praised in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that both nations look forward to strengthening these relations in various fields.
He said that the visit of Sheikh Dr. Mohammad to Spain came in response to a call by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Trinidad Jimenez Garcia, which she extended during the official visit of which she accompanied King Juan Carlos to Kuwait last February to attend the 50th anniversary of independence and the 20th anniversary of the liberation and the passage of five years of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accession.
He said the meeting between Sheikh Dr. Mohammad and the King of Spain Juan Carlos during the visit was friendly and intimate, reflecting the appreciation of King Carlos to Kuwait and his personal relation with the Kuwaiti leadership.
He added that during the meeting of Sheikh Mohammad and the King, the Palestinian issue and the initiative put forward for Palestine recognition in the United Nations, as well as the initiative of dialogue among civilizations and ways to support it, were discussed among other topics.
