CAIRO, Oct 3 (KUNA) -- Participants in the 58th Executive Office of the
Arab Social Affairs ministers Council meeting praised Kuwait on Monday for
their supportive role during the Somalia famine crisis.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti government, its people and its popular
committees were hailed and thanked for their aid and supportive role of
Somalia, the President of the Kuwaiti delegation, the Assistant Undersecretary
of Social Care in the Social Affairs and Labor Ministry Hamad Abdullah
Al-Medhadi told KUNA.
The meeting also discussed 21 items on the agenda which dealt with various
joint Arab work issues, most notably the role of the Arab Social Affairs
Council and necessary requirements for the current developments amid the rapid
changing developments in Arab countries, Al-Medhadi said.
Participants in the meeting also tackled the issue of preparation to the
social status portfolio in the region which will be submitted to the upcoming
Arab summit in Baghdad in March, 2012.
Al-Medhadi added that the meeting delved into issues regarding the
executive office and development goals which should be followed up, or
monitored in the Arab region. (end)
