Iran tells Ashton it is ready for nuclear dialogue

TEHRAN, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Selehi said Sunday Iran sent a new letter to the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton telling her it was ready for dialogue over its nuclear program.
Secretary General of Iran's national security council Saeed Jalili sent a letter to Ashton few days ago affirming that Iran "is ready for dialogue ... in order to reach common understanding," Salehi told a joint news conference with Russian Minister of Energy Sergey Shmatko.
Jalili is in charge of nuclear negotiations between Iran on one side, and the five permanent UN Security Council (UNSC) countries plus Germany (P5+1). The P5+1 is represented by Ashton.
Meanwhile, Iran and Russia signed a number of cooperation documents in fields of energy, space, nuclear energy, trade in transit, transportation, banking and finance. (end) mw.bs KUNA 112220 Sep 11NNNN
