his request to visit Damascus, carrying the Arab initiative to resolve the
Syrian crisis.

The Arab League Council at the level of Arab foreign ministers has asked
the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States to go to Damascus to hand
in the Arab initiative to the Syrian leadership to resolve the crisis.
Official sources said that the initiative, prepared by Arab foreign
ministers to resolve the Syrian crisis, included 14 points on the Arab vision
to address the crisis within its Arab framework, adding that the Syrian
delegation that participated in the extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign
ministers rejected the statement of the meeting on developments in Syria and
considered it an interference in the internal affairs of Syria.
These sources said that there was a proposal to form an Arab ministerial
committee headed by the Sultanate of Oman and the membership of Qatar, Jordan,
Tunisia and the Secretary General of the Arab League to go to Damascus to
deliver the Arab initiative to the Syrian leadership.
They noted that Syrian delegation refused the formation of the Committee
and considered it an interference in Syrian affairs and thus, the statement on
