Former chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization Yussif Hajji and several other Kuwaiti figures are partaking in the gathering.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the two-day conference, Hajji said the significance of the event stems from the fact that the holy city of Jerusalem matters so much to all Muslims worldwide.
He stressed the necessity of harnessing more efforts and support to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem.
He voiced hope that the gathering would come up with recommendations that could lead to more pressure on the international community to help resolve the long-standing Palestinian cause.
The conferees will shed light on the risks and perils facing the holy city of Jerusalem and the suffering of those Palestinians living there due to Israeli suppression.
Twenty-one speakers from Jerusalem and the West Bank will address the event.
Some 23 working papers and 11 practical experiments will be presented during the two-day gathering. (end) ab.mt KUNA 111516 Jun 11NNNN
