CAIRO, May 6 (KUNA) -- Hundreds of Egyptians gathered Friday in front of
the Israeli embassy here to protest the Israeli policy towards desperate
Palestinians and call for a new Palestinian uprising against the Israeli
occupation.
The protesters, who were hoisting Palestinian flags and chanting
pro-Palestine slogans, also called an end to Cairo normalization of relations
with Tel Aviv.
The asked the government to expel the Israeli ambassador and close the
Israeli embassy here.
They also called for immediate abrogation of the gas deal with Israel and
hailed the government's promise to open Rafah border crossing with Gaza Strip
permanently soon.
Protesters called for a third Palestinian intifadha (uprising) against
Israeli occupation on May 15 to coincide with the Nakba (catastrophe) Day,
which commemorates the establishment of Israel on the rubble of the
Palestinian state in 1948. (end)
