Protests in Kurdistan result in killing one, injuring more than 100 others

IRBIL, April 18 (KUNA) -- One civilian was killed and at least 100 people have been injured, among them many policemen, during protests in Iraq's Salmaniya city in Kurdistan region.
The protests have been going on for the past two months.
Salmaniya Hospital Director said one civilian died of his wounds and at least 100 were injured.
Since February, Salmaniya has been the scene of almost daily demonstrations by thousands of people criticizing Massoud Barzani, the incumbent president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and monopoly of the autonomous region's politics Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
