KUWAIT, April 13 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi delegation, from Basra Province,
visited the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Wednesday to
discuss enhancing economic and investment cooperation with Kuwait.
KCCI Director General Rabah Abdulrehman Al-Rabah welcomed the Iraqi guests
and expressed hope that such a visit would help strengthening bilateral
economic relations between the two neighboring Arab countries.
For his part, Basra Chamber of Commerce Deputy Chairman Mazen Abdul-Zuhra
called for building a strong bilateral relations based on cooperation and
mutual respect.
He also urged Kuwaiti investors to benefit from the investment
opportunities in Iraq and asked Kuwait companies to contribute to the
rebuilding of Iraq.
Basra Investment Authority Chairman Haider Fadel vowed to take all
necessary measures to facilitate Kuwaiti investors' work in Basra.
Fadel revealed that Kuwaitis own 1,000 buildings in Basra alone, 12 percent
of the total number of registered buildings for individuals and companies.
