ALGIERS, March 30 (KUNA) -- Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika
highlighted Wednesday, in a message to the 19th Conference of the African
Industry Ministers (CAMI), the need to revise the continent's development
strategies in a way that meets the social challenges and the "legitimate
aspirations" of youth for employment.
The message, read on his behalf by Presidential Advisor Mohamed Ali
Boughazi, says that "development relies on the promotion of the investment and
raising the national and the international savings for the reinforcement of
the national industrial capacities notably in the exploitation and processing
of local resources."
"The upgrading and the modernization of companies as well as the adoption
of quality standards in the management and in the production are also
necessary stages of the industrial development," President Bouteflika said.
The Algerian leader noted that the African continent has suffered
tremendously from the repercussion of the financial global crisis, which he
described halted the advancement of incomes and the reassessment of recorded
results in the fight against poverty.
The Algerian President added that hosting such conference was a testimony
that countries in the continent continue to consult among themselves to
improve and develop industries as a priority setup by their respective
government. (end)
