BAGHDAD, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- At least 12 people were killed and 30 others
wounded on Monday in a car bomb explosion targeting Iraqi security forces in
the northern city of Samarra.
The booby-trapped car targeted a police force headquarters based between
Tikrit and Samaara, head of the Security Committee in the governorate of Salah
al-Din Mohammed Fadhel al-Samarrai told KUNA.
The victims were transferred to Tikrit General Hospital and the area is
being surrounded by security forces, he noted.
However, two militants were chased by Iraqi police died after they
detonated the car bomb, security official in Sharqay city said.
He added the militants were indentified and wanted in Mosul city by the
authorities.
Meanwhile, Kirkuk province a body was found belonging to Egyptian citizen,
who was found dead in his apartment in Sadr city due to bullet wounds, Kirkuk
governorate official said.(end)
