Three injured, great damage in Israeli raids on Gaza

GAZA, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- Israel launched a series of raids on different areas in Gaza Strip early Tuesday, injuring three Palestinians and causing great damage to a dairy factory.
Targets of Israeli raids included civilian sites and a home.
Two of the injured are members of Martyr Izzidin Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
Spokesman of the higher committee of emergencies in Gaza Adham Abu Salmia said that the two Palestinians were injured in a raid on Khan Younis, south Gaza Strip.
One of them is injured seriously and lost his leg in the Israeli attack, he pointed out in a press release.
Israeli forces also attacked farms east of Khan Younis city, he added.
Meanwhile, local radio stations said that targets of the raids included a dairy factory in Al-Moharrarat area.
Great damage was caused in the factory and one of its guards was injured, they noted.
An abandoned home of the family of Majid Moammar Modhaha, a Palestinian activist killed by the Israelis, was also destroyed in an Israeli raid.
In northern Gaza, two Israeli raids targeted open lands in Bait Lahya and Bait Hanoun, without causing casualties.
Another raid targeted tunnels linking Rafah with Egypt.
In addition, Israeli planes fired a rocket at Abu Safia area, east of Jabalia camp.
It was not known what the target site was.
Israeli planes also fired rockets at a site of Hamas's military wing in Al-Zaitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, where Palestinian activists were gathering.
However, the attack did not lead to any injuries.
The deposed Palestinian government in Gaza condemned the Israeli raids.
It said in a press release that the raids frightened civilians, especially women and children, and caused casualties and damage.
It called for stopping the illegitimate aggressive Israeli acceleration against Palestinian civilians.
Israel killed five Palestinian youths in Deir Al-Balah city, in central Gaza, three days ago.
In the mean time, spokesman of the Israeli army said that Israeli forces bombarded eight sites in Gaza Strip early Tuesday.
He said the attacks came as response to the recent firing of missiles from Gaza at Israel, claiming that the raids targeted three tunnels and sites of Hamas.
One of the raids led to the injury of three people in a weapons workshop, he added. (end) mzt.ris KUNA 210933 Dec 10NNNN
