GAZA, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- An Israeli naval vessel tracked down and sank three
Palestinian fishing boats near the coasts of Rafah city, south Gaza Strip,
Friday.
The attack claimed the life of Zeyad Samir Al-Bardawil, 16 years old, a
Palestinian medical source told KUNA this evening.
Al-Bardawil succumbed to his injuries before being admitted to Martyr
Abu-Youssof Al-Najjar Hospital in the city while the other fishermen on board
of the two boats survived the attack, the source said.
The Palestinian fishing boats come under Israeli fire frequently although
they don't overshoot the three-mile limit specified by the Israeli occupation
authorities.
The recurrent mid-sea attacks which claimed dozens of lives in the last
months are part of the stifling blockade imposed by Israel on the southeast
Mediterranean enclave since Hamas assumed power in 2006. (end)
