70 killed, wounded in a series of explosions

BAGHDAD, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- At least eight civilians were killed and 62 were wounded Saturday in a series of explosions that shook the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said.
The source told KUNA that a car bomb attack at Al-Shula city targeted a bus full of Iranian pilgrims who were headed to Najaf.
The explosion resulted in killing two Iranians and wounding 28 who were on the bus, it said.
In a separate accident, a booby-trapped car blasted through a house, in Al-Kadhimia city north of Iraq, killing its residents of five Iranians and wounding 17 others.
Elsewhere, four police officers were killed in an explosive device that hit their patrol car near the Leather General Company in Al-Kurada city.
Also in Al-Kurada city, a third blast occurred by an explosive device which killed an Iraqi civilian and injured eight others. The explosion also hit the convoy of Maj. Gen. Subaih Al-Qadi from Court of the Internal Security Forces while passing through the city.
The source also said that another explosive device blast hit an army patrol west of Baghdad and wounded three Iraqi soldiers.
In South of Baghdad, another roadside bomb detonated, injuring two civilians and seriously damaging several stores. (end) mhg.nfm KUNA 041322 Dec 10NNNN
