RAMALLAH, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- Head of the negotiations' department in the
Palestinian Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat on Monday has accused Israel
of being responsible of halting direct negotiations between the Israelis and
Palestinians.
During his meeting with US Deputy Envoy for Middle East David Hill, Erekat
said that negotiations would only resume once Israel halts all its settlement
activities.
He said that the time now is of decisions and not negotiations, adding that
the aim of the peace process according to the international road map is to end
the Israeli occupation, which began in 1967, and the establishment of a
Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that other arrangements should also include the final status
issues, topped by the issue of refugees in accordance with the international
legitimacy resolutions. (end)
