RAMALLAH, Nov 17 (KUNA) -- Jewish settlers set agricultural fields alight
near the village of Beit Amr in the Hebron region on Wednesday, witnesses said.
Witnesses said Israeli troops at the scene banned firemen from reaching the
field, thus the blazes spread gutting wide swaths of the cultivated land.
The settlers had come from the settlement of "Jifat Jilaad," starting the
fires that burned down many olive trees.
Meanwhile, Israel Radio reported that police arrested two Israeli religious
students in the settlement of "Yitzhar" south of Nablus on charges of
attacking Palestinian civilians. The police confiscated knives, gloves and
masks, concealed in the pair car.
Attacks by Jewish settlers have increased, since two years ago, in the West
Bank. (end)
