Abul-Gheit to discuss peace options with Clinton -- spokesman

CAIRO, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul-Gheit travelled to the United States on Tuesday for talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on various regional and bilateral issues, the ministry spokesman said.
Ambassador Husam Zaki said in a statement the issue of Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations would loom high in the prospected talks in Washington.
On this occasion, he condemned a decision by the Jerusalem Municipality to build new settlement units in East Jerusalem, stressing that such a move would undermine the peace efforts and raise doubts about Tel Aviv'ss intentions toward the peace option.
