AMMAN, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Jordan on Sunday denied media reports over meeting
held here by US, Jordanian and Palestinian officials to discuss the final
status talks between Palestinians and Israelis.
"Media reports on a US-Palestinian-Jordanian meeting held recently in Amman
and resulted in allowing Jordanian troops, along with Palestinian security
forces, to deploy along borders in case an agreement on final status with the
Israelis was reached are baseless," Jordanian Minister of State for Media and
Communications Affairs Ali Al-Aayed said in a press release.
"Such meeting did not take place," he stressed, emphasizing that Jordan
would not carry on with any security-related role in the West Bank, yet it
supports the Palestinian Authority, as well the aspiration of the Palestinian
people of having an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital in
accordance with international references, including the Arab peace initiative.
