RAMALLAH, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Three Palestinian workers on Sunday were wounded
in an explosion in a building in downtown Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Palestinian police said in a statement that the explosion was caused by
remnants of the Israeli occupation as the three workers were injured while
working in the removal of the rubble of the building that was shelled by
Israel in 2002 when the Israeli authorities re-occupied Nablus.
Police said the three Palestinian workers were taken to hospital for
treatment, descring their wounds as moderate and slight.
Intelligence and police began investigating the incident following closure
of the incident scene to secure the lives of citizens.
Nablus came under heavy Israeli bombardment in 2002 that led to the
destruction of a large number of buildings. (end).
