Ahmedinejad says the 9/11 terrorist attacks were home made

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad on Thursday said the terrorist attacks on the towers of the New York World Trade Centre on September 11, in 2001, were carried out by a US group that penetrated all Security circles, and called for a UN probe.
In his philosophical and historic speech to the General Assembly, Ahmedinejad said those terrorist attacks were meant to give an excuse to the US government to invade Iraq and Afghanistan where thousands are being killed every day.
He announced that Iran will convene next year an international conference on terrorism to be attended by world thinkers, scholars and politicians.
He also suggested that the UN proclaims 2011 a year of nuclear disarmament.
He said Iran is ready for a dialogue with the West but it should be based on respect and justice.
"Those who used intimidation and sanctions - are destroying the remaining credibility of the Security Council," he said.
The US and other Western representatives walked out collectively as Ahmedinejad started to talk about September 11 attacks and accusing Americans and even Jews of orchestrating them.
Mark Kornblau, Spokesman of the United States Mission to the UN, said in a statement that "rather than representing the aspirations and goodwill of the Iranian people, Mr. Ahmadinejad has yet again chosen to spout vile conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic slurs that are as abhorrent and delusional as they are predictable".
