CAIRO, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- A Sudanese national died while trying to sneak
into Israel as Egyptian border guards thwarted attempts by other African
nationals, said a source on Saturday.
Egyptian TV said that security forces captured Africans at international
border sign No. 59 in Sinai.
The causality, however, occurred due to the Sudanese national's refusal to
halt his infiltration attempt which compelled the border guards to shoot
warning rounds and eventually bringing down the suspect, who died of his
injures, via the same method, said the security forces.
Two Eritreans were also arrested while trying to cross into Israel near
sign No. 13, indicated the source.
The Egyptian Authorities halted several infiltrations by African nationals
into Israel in the past couple of years with statistics showing that tens of
thousands of such attempts occurring within that specific time-frame. (end)
