ISLAMABAD, July 25 (KUNA) -- In a major setback for Taliban militants,
Afghan officials said on Sunday that they arrested six Taliban commanders
including a former Minister Mullah Abdul Hai Motmahen in Southern Afghan
province of Ghazni.
Citing District Governor Sher Khan Yusufzai, local news channels reported
that the six Taliban commanders were arrested during an operation in Andar
district of Ghazni.
The arrest of Commander Mullah Motmahen is believed to be a major setback
for Taliban as he became insurgents main commander in war-torn country after
the collapse of Taliban regime in 2001. (end)
