Israeli forces detain senior Fatah leader

RAMALLAH, July 24 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces detained senior Fatah official, responsible for the Jerusalem file, Hatem Abdulqader at Hazma military checkpoint, northeastern Jerusalem, Palestinian sources said on Saturday.
He was stopped for more than an hour in his car, after he refused to follow the orders of a number of officers of the Israel security agency, the Shabak.
They confiscated his personal documents at the checkpoint to double check that Abdulqader was allowed to enter the city.
Abdulqader was heading to Jerusalem to participate in a solidarity delegation in support of the Palestinian 'doruz' who are refusing to join the Israeli army for military service.
Israel is hassling a number of figures and activists in Jerusalem, expelling them outside the city following every protest they arrange in the city.
Israel recently expelled three Palestinian MPs and a former minister from Jerusalem, under the pretext they are Hamas members. (end) nq.lb KUNA 241329 Jul 10NNNN
