ISTANBUL, July 22 (KUNA) -- The Turkish army said on Thursday that two
Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) rebels were killed in armed clashes in southeast
Turkey.
The confrontation occurred in Cukurca area in Hakkari'nin province, the
Turkish military said in a statement on its website.
In the past couple of days, six Turkish soldiers were killed and around 15
others were injured after PKK attacked a Turkish controlled site the
Hakkari'nin province.
Clashes between the two sides have been escalating, particularly after a
recent announcement made by PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, who announced the end
of negotiations with Ankara. (end)
