Chamber of Commerce in Cuba in search for opportunities

(with photos) HAVANA, July 18 (KUNA) -- Part of the overall effort to strengthen cooperation and trade with Cuba, and other Latin America nations, a delegation representing Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry is accompanying His Highness the Kuwaiti Premier on his current tour.
Head of the delegation Sayer Bader Al-Sayer met representative of the Cuban trade chamber and stated that Cuba has great potential and offers many unique industries and products.
In remarks Saturday night after his meeting with his peers, he said the Joint Ministerial Cuban-Kuwaiti Committee presided by the Minister of Finance had met in April 2008 in Kuwait where it was agreed to present a protocol of cooperation between the two chambers at the second meeting for signing.
This, he added, is the fourth Cuban-Kuwaiti meeting, following the last in late 2009 where the chairmen of the two chambers agreed it was vital to sign cooperation agreements.
Al-Sayer pointed out there are some challenges which still hinder trade exchange, and more talks as well as exhibitions and joint events are hoped to help in this regard.
Head of the Cuban chamber Pedro Alvarez Borrego meanwhile said he was looking forward to see rise in exchange value and volume with Cuba and a detailed presentation was given on opportunities in the fields of tourism, industry, and healthcare.
Member of the Kuwaiti chamber Talal Jassem Al-Kharafi said a review of the opportunities would be given to all chamber members and added a visit by the Cuban chamber to Kuwait would boost odds for swift progress.(end) wsa KUNA 181018 Jul 10NNNN
