RAMALLAH, July 13 (KUNA) -- Independent Palestinian lawmaker Jamal
al-Khudari of the Popular Committee Against the Siege and Arab Knesset member
MP Ahmed al-Tibi said on Tuesday that the Israeli naval vessels intercepted
the Gaza-bound Libyan ship, 100 km from the shores of the Gaza Strip.
The two MPs who were communicating with the organizers of the ship, said in
a press statement that the Israeli boats surrounded the ship and asked the
organizers not to go to Gaza and to proceed to any other port, a matter which
is rejected by the activists on board the ship as they insisted that their
cargo was humanitarian bound for the Gaza people.
Al-Khudari urged the international community and human rights organizations
to stand in the face of Israel and form a safety net to protect the ship it
reaches the Gaza Strip. (pick up previous).
