Pakistan military kills 38 terrorists

ISLAMABAD, June 17 (KUNA) -- About thirty-eight terrorists and ten soldiers were killed and twenty-three were arrested by the security forces in raids in a tribal agency, close to Afghan border, said military on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the security forces conducted raids in Nesko Shah, Rajab China, Gudar and Sarko areas of Mohmand tribal agency on Wednesday, said Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), militarys media wing, in a press statement. During exchange of fire, said the statement, ten security forces personnel were killed and thirteen were wounded. About thirty-eight militants were killed and twenty-three were apprehended, it added.
The raids have been conducted only a week after about forty paramilitary troopers went missing after Taliban militants attacked their checkpost in the agency. Five of the missing personnel were handed over to Pakistani authorities in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan on Wednesday and about twenty-five have been handed over on Thursday, according to some segments of local news channels.
