US confirms 12 Americans arrested in Yemen

WASHINGTON, June 7 (KUNA) -- The US confirmed here Monday that 12 Americans have been arrested by Yemeni authorities for links to Al-Qaeda.
State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said in a press briefing that 12 Americans have been arrested but did not give nay further details.
He added that "we are working to find out more about the individuals who may be in Yemeni custody," and that they are trying to find out more information.
"We have great cooperation with the government of Yemen. Together, we are doing our best to help Yemen, reduce the threat posed by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula," he affirmed.
