BAGHDAD, June 5 (KUNA) -- Another standby candidate of Iraq's Al-Iraqia
List was killed in a blast in front a private hospital western Iraq, police
said here Saturday.
Ihab Saleh Al-Aani, director of Al-Obeidi Hospital and standby candidate of
the list, lost his life due to an explosive device outside his clinic at
Al-Qaem City near borders with Syria, an Iraqi police source told KUNA.
The blast also resulted in injuring six people, including a woman, as well
as severely damaging surrounding buildings.
Earlier today, unknown militants had assassinated Faris Al-Jabouri, another
standby Iraqia candidate during the recent general polls, at his home in the
northern city of Mosul.
Al-Aani and Al-Jabouri joined their fellow candidates Bashar Al-Ikeidi
(already won a seat) and Suha Abdullah, who both lost their lives in similar
assassinations by unknown gunmen.
Al-Ikeidi was killed May 24, while Abdullah was killed last February.
