ISLAMABAD, April 20 (KUNA) -- The northern city of Pakistan was mourning
the deaths of over 40 victims as police released the sketch of the suicide
bomber on Tuesday.
A suicide bomber of an age between 15 and 17 exploded himself in Qisa
Khawani Bazaar of Peshawar city Monday afternoon when the protestors had ended
their demonstration against long power-outages. The blast killed over 40
people and wounded more than 30 others. Most of the killed and wounded were
Jamait-e-Islami (JI) activists and policemen.
Police on Tuesday released the sketch of the suspected suicide bomber and
registered a case against unknown suspects.
On Tuesday, the victims funeral prayers were being held in Peshawar and
Mardan district. Police imposed 144 Act to avoid any violent act by mourning
people. Also, shutter down strike was being observed in Peshawar.
The provincial government had announced three days of mourning to condemn
the blasts. Earlier, on Monday another blast targeting a school killed a child
and wounded over ten others including seven children. (end)
