ISLAMABAD, April 12 (KUNA) -- At least seven people were killed and more
than 100 others were wounded in protests against renaming of Pakistans
North-West Frontier Province on Monday, said police.
Angry protesters have been holding demonstrations against the renaming of
NWFP since Monday morning in Abbottabad, Hazara, Mansehra and other northern
districts. Police sources told KUNA that the protests were still
continuing. They said the protestors burnt tyres, pelted stones at police and
closed the traffic.
Abbottabad District Hospital officer, Rehmat ullah Wazir, told KUNA by
telephone that at least five dead bodies and more than hundred wounded were
brought to the hospital. (end)
